All the Good News

:: IAGFFA for Christmas

My website friends, I'm pretty wowed by the response to the series. This is the first Christmas the book has been available, and I'm hearing the series is on some Christmas wish lists, some holiday reading lists, and, judging by some Amazon reports, people's buy lists!

Keep it up, everyone!

:: New E-book for Book 2

To anybody who checked out the e-book of Home Sweet Home Invasion on Kindle Direct and saw a few formatting errors, I uploaded a newer version that hopefully fixes it. The newer version will be available in the next 12 hours. If there's any big fat badness left over, send me a message and I'll see what I can do. I'm still new at this e-book conversion thing.

:: New Shows in 2016

Who's going to the Cornwall and Area Pop Event (CAPE)?? This guy with the thum--Okay, you can't see my thumbs on this site and I keep forgetting.

I've just been accepted into the CAPE lineup as an exhibitor, and I'm really excited about possibly showcasing In a Galaxy Far, Far AwRy in a new city. In addition to Montreal Comiccon, I'm really excited about 2016. I have only one more detail to confirm about getting to CAPE, but if things go as planned, that "possibly" will turn into a certainty.

So, like always, watch for details in this space.

:: IAGFFA Game?

Had a little meeting with a game designer today, and it seems come the new year I might--mmmmiiiggghhhhttt--have a customizable card game in the works based off the first book of the series, Serial Fiction Sideshow. It's in the very early planning stages, but imagine not only watching Master Asinine or Power Plant botch up a really easy situation, but being able to do it yourself!

— Liam Gibbs, your one-stop shopping nightmare for all your misguided Christmas needs

:: Geeked Out

Had a great time meeting everyone at Geeked Out this year. Made a lot of new friends and passed out a ton of books. Bring on the next one! Thanks, Geeked Out!

— Liam Gibbs, who's too busy watching old Fresh Prince reruns to make use of even one part of his brain

:: Book 3 Pushing Forward

The plans to publish book 3 are well underway. Plan B is a go. I don't like giving out updates until things are a clincher, but there's an excellent chance I'll have some good news for you come early 2016. So keep watch at this site. And if you'd like to help out, you can do so by donating via Paypal to inagalaxyfarfarawry@gmail.com and spreading the word about the series. Anything and everything helps!

— Liam Gibbs, who gets too excited about spinning things

:: Reviews on Book 1

The reviews are in! Well, one of them.

In a Galaxy Far, Far AwRy issue 1 is "beyond humour and into something almost indescribable" and "Liam Gibbs has an incredibly twisted sense of humour."

Check out The Geeky Godmother for the full review.

:: Campaign Ending Soon

Backing for book 3 ends this Sunday, November 8th at midnight! Only three days left to cash in for some great/incredibly great rewards. Oh, your stars and garters!

Check out more awesome/really awesome rewards by visiting the campaign page on Kickstarter. All the above and more can be yours if...the price is right!

Make sure to tell everyone you know as well. I'll wait here till you're done.

— Liam Gibbs, wringing his hands and thinking about the impending doom/release of book 3

:: Social Media Makeover

In a Galaxy Far, Far AwRy has gotten a minor makeover at Facebook and Twitter. But Linkedin, Google+, and Instragram haven't gotten too much love and attention lately. That'll change soon enough. I plan to put an extra does of attention into those accounts soon, so if you're up to connecting on any of those sites, search me out. And look for big changes there!

Oh, P.S. Happy Halloween. Don't eat all your kids' candy. Just eat, like, 90 to 95 percent of it.

— Liam Gibbs, king of social media awkwardness

:: Destroying Social Media

Come find In a Galaxy Far, Far AwRy on Google+, Linkedin, and Instagram! That's right, G+ and Instagram fans, the series is on both those sites. I'm still learning the ins and outs of the sites, so I can't guarantee the next few days will be all that posty, successful, or legible, but come find me on both those places and say hi!

— Liam Gibbs, who won't be done till he messes up all the social media sites

:: IAGFFA on Consignment

I'm on consignment with two local bookstores as of yesterday! You can find book 1 at both Kessel Run Games on St. Joseph Blvd. near the Place D'Orléans Mall and now at Books on Beechwood at 35 Beechwood.

Visit the stores. Say hi. Most important, buy the book so they consign more! :)

That is all.

— Liam Gibbs, author and perfector of not much really

:: IAGFFA on Crowdcrux

In a Galaxy Far, Far AwRy and its first campaign have been the subject of a podcast hosted by Crowdcrux! That's right. Check out my ideas about how to handle a Kickstarter campaign and how to see it through not only to the end but past that, making your campaign only the start and not the end of your product.

— Liam Gibbs, who may or may not be a robot

:: Mailing List

Okie dokie. So In a Galaxy Far, Far AwRy now has a mailing list! You want the news straight in your inbox? Just send an e-mail to inagalaxyfarfarawry@gmail.com with the subject line "Sign me up, dude!" and I'll do exactly as you say. Aaaawwesome.

— Liam Gibbs, who shouts it out straight from the rooftops and apparently enjoys ice cream cake more than what's healthy

:: Campaign in Full Swing

The campaign is going great, guys!

Thanks to everyone who has backed me so far. I've got about 31% and we're only a few days in. Keep passing the word around, everyone. There are a couple of referral programs happening.

The first is Kickbackit.com, where when you sign up, you get 10% back on everything you donate. So if you donate a million bucks (which you will no doubt do) you get $100,000 back! Noice! First, sign up at Kickbackit.com to get things going.

The second is Kickbooster, where you can earn back 10% by referring others to the campaign. When you sign up and donate, then tell others about the campaign, then they sign up and donate, you get 10% of whatever they donate right in your pocket.

So that's giving you two--count 'em, two--options to make money back when you pump cash into In a Galaxy Far, Far AwRy.

— Liam Gibbs, who does so much for his backers, he thinks

:: IAGFFA at OGM

Who knew I'd have such a blast working?

Tons of thanks to the Ottawa Geek Market organizers for putting on such an event. Met a ton of people, passed out a ton of books, got some encouraging feedback from people who went home to read it Saturday night and returned Sunday to tell me how much they loved it, even got some generous donations for the Kickstarter campaign, which is happening right this very moment. One of the very amazing best highlights of the weekend was the costumes from every corner of geekdom: games, books, movies, comics. For those of you interested, I posted a ton of pictures on the Facebook group, so check 'em out over there. All in all, an experience I want to have again, and I'll definitely be there next time.

A big shoutout to Bernie Pallek for the booth assist. Couldn't have done it without you!

— Liam Gibbs, now experiencing expo withdrawals

This is an event not to be missed, so make sure to stake your claim and be a part of it before it's too late.

— Liam Gibbs, nervous about the impending doom brought on by last night's salsa

:: Website Updates

You'll notice the long gap between this update and the last. That's because I was working on the site and the upcoming campaign. Yup, the campaign is still a go on October 3rd, so if you want some sweet grabs, get on over to the campaign site.

But the site is up! There are still changes to make, but here you go. The site is 90 percent done. Mosey on over to the Merchandise page to find out how you can own a copy of whatever you need (not including Twilight). Or check out the cast of characters and find out why Power Plant loves red meat so much. Or at least guess at it.

As always, drop me a line by clicking the link in the footer!

— Liam Gibbs, ready for a long break

:: Back the Third Book This October 3rd

Just a reminder, everyone, that you can help the series by backing its third issue starting October 3rd. Head over to Kickstarter to see what you can do to put your name on this amazing series. Oh, I won't be the only one making out like a bandit on this. Oh, no no no no no. I'm a firm believer in give and take, in win-win situations. Snag yourself a copy of issue 3, a copy of each issue, some sweet exclusive video footage, or even have your name in the front matter of the book, all for helping out!

— Liam Gibbs, super excited about the future of this series

:: Birthday Shoutout

Happy birthday to a dear friend, Andrew. Aging amazingly, brother.

— Liam Gibbs, not playing with a full deck

:: Issue 2 Is Out!

Issue 2, Home Sweet Home Invasion, is a go! A month ahead of schedule, this sweet, sweet gem in your home library is on Amazon for the low, lllooowww price of 1,200 American pennies or $12.00. The e-book will soon follow. But I'm super excited to bring you the second issue.

— Liam Gibbs, with a brain stuffed full of too many thoughts

:: IAGFFA in the ByWard Market

Visited the Ottawa ByWard Market and met a ton of great people! Loved everyone I got to visit with and wanted to thank all the people who walked away with a copy. A lot more of you wanted to grab a copy of the book but couldn't for various reasons. Some wanted to get in touch with me to grab a copy later, so send me an e-mail and we can arrange to meet up, maybe even grab a coffee!

And don't worry, folks. I'm back next week on August 22nd from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and again August 29th at the same time. If you're not available to visit me in August, I'm back on September 13th. And if you're attending the Ottawa Geek Market on October 3rd to 4th, I'll be there as well.

Feel free to drop by!

:: Like the New Digs?

Ha haaaaa, you made it. Good job. Out of all the Internet, you decided to visit the official and inauspicious In a Galaxy Far, Far AwRy web site. Can't say I blame you.

Unfortunately the site is still being created. Seems to take a long time to raise a child site into a fully grown, self-sufficient adult site. In the meantime, enjoy what we have here.

Oh, and it won't be long.
